IconWorkshop creates PNG images with alpha channel in a few clicks including from existing Windows and Mac OS icons. It creates Windows icons up to 256x256 for Windows Vista and Macintosh icons up to 512x512 for Leopard (Mac OS 10.5). With IconWorkshop make your own icons for Windows, Macintosh and Unix. Be prepared for a lot of learning along the way, but results that are in line with your efforts. If you want to get started doing awesome miniature 3D prints, this is the machine to get. I run this printer in my garage because I really don't like the smell of the UV resins.

NanoDLP is not for beginners, but it transforms this printer into an excellent WiFi-controlled resin printer and removes the need to leave your PC running all night. There is a Facebook group that has great insight to get it working. This printer is well supported by the community and with NanoDLP, it can be left to print by itself and offer a lot of nice features.

The best controller (replacing the PC) that I found for this printer is a Raspberry Pi 3 controller running a software called NanoDLP. The instructions provided are minimal at best, but following them through carefully allowed me to print excellent versions of the 3DBenchy in a miniature form factor along with other test prints. Just be careful with the initial calibration of the build plate, its very important to do it right. Out of the box, the printer was setup right. I use this printer to prototype small parts that FDM printer cannot do accurately. UV printing is very good for fine details and miniature components. You need to get familiar with UV resin printer operation and trade-offs before ordering one of those. If you're looking for something cheap and easy get something else. All in all this thing has a lot of steps to get a good print and a lot of cleanup, but the print at the end is superb in everyway compared to PLA/SLA layer printing. Im using an Intel NUC which is small and supports multiple monitors. Also you're not going to want to touch or use that computer while its printing.

Since printing is basically a second screen according to the PC, you cant have your PC goto sleep, go into a screensaver, or install updates and reboot or your 12 hour print will fail. Unit has no indication of anything on it at all. However I made a can with UV lights in it and a moving pedestal that spins for around 20 bucks to cure easier and quicker. Once its cleaned it also needs to cure to develop final color and harden.Įasiest is to put it in sunlight. Cleaning the piece itself is much easier with a ultrasonic cleaner (jewelery cleaner) without it things are very messy. Resin is a nightmare, stuff gets everywhere and is messy. Not sure where to put it without its smell wafting around. Stinks up my whole place like weird chemicals. Cons -Good lord this thing is slow, prints are by no means quick. Here are some quick pros/cons Pros -Super fine detail printing prints look amazing compared to traditional 3d pla/abs printer -No need to level bed or adjust a bunch of stuff simply loosen screws that hold build plate zero it out and tighten them. Thankfully a quick google search and I was able to find another version of this machine from another manufacturer thats software worked well.
It prints great quality prints and is easy to use once you figure it out (which is a challenge in itself) Monoprice at the time of this writing actually provides NO SOFTWARE at all. This is a great basic small format SLA printer. Also for customers that run out of the 1 year. Ideal for those who need more than one computer running the software. It now also support controlling standard FDM printers through the use of Slic3r.
